SS Robin is a traditional raised quarterdeck coastal cargo steamer built at the celebrated Thames Ironworks, Orchard House Yard in Blackwall, East London and launched in 1890. She is representative of an important and valued class of mercantile vessel and is the only complete example in the world of a coastal cargo steamer.
SS Robin is included in the UK Core Collection of the National Register of Historic Vessels (a register recognised and supported by the Department of Culture Media and Sport) where she is considered to be one of 60 ships of pre-eminent national importance.
